Klā Ceramics, nestled amongst native bushland and wildlife in the gorgeous Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia, was founded with the goal in mind to design and create pieces that are both aesthetically pleasing and functional to use.
Since training in ceramics during the 1980s, Kathryn has followed her passion for working with clay as an educator and production potter. With an abundance of native and exotic trees, plants and birdlife outside her studio, she draws inspiration from the beauty and vibrancy of the living things around her, and is constantly inspired by elements of the natural world . . . air, earth, water and fire.
Whilst 'playing with mud' can be messy and often unpredictable, Kathryn constantly explores the use of new processes and materials in an effort to sustain her creative and individual approach.
